The College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the Florida International University is encouraging students interested in the nursing profession to consider the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The BSN program is approved by the Board of Regents of the State University System since 1982 and accepts students who do not possess a registered nurse license.
This four-year nursing program accepts only a limited number of students during the Fall and Spring semesters and admission within the program is highly competitive. Successfully admitted students will complete 125 credits throughout the course of the program and will have to maintain at least a 2.5 GPA in all nursing courses. Student nurses which complete all program requirements receive a Bachelor's in Nursing degree and are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensing exam. Pass rates for students graduating from this four-year nursing program in 2006 were 90.26%. The College of Nursing had a total of 195 candidates who underwent the registered nurse examination in 2006.
