Are you a licensed practical nurse looking to advance your education and become a registered nurse? Brevard Community College is offering a special program designed especially for you. The Transition to Associate Degree Nursing Program will give any qualified practical nurse practicing in Florida an advanced standing following admission into the program and the ability to complete the registered nurse education in only one year. The number of students admitted into the program is limited and certain requirements must be met in order to be considered.
A successful candidate must pass the nursing entrance test exam, must have a valid nursing license and at least two years of experience as a licensed practical nurse, must hold a current CPR certification, and should complete all 24 prerequisite credits required by the department of nursing at Brevard Community College. The selection criteria used in determining which students will be admitted into the nursing program is based on a point system and it is outlined on the Brevard Community College Health Sciences web page. Students who graduate from this nursing program are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination and obtain a registered nurse license in the state of Florida.
